    (based on Lectionary Lessons Appointed for Use on the Feast of
    St. Peter & St. Paul )

    Cross:   Thus says the Lord GOD: I myself will search for my sheep, and will seek them out. As shepherds seek out their flocks when they are among their scattered sheep, so I will seek out my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places to which they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land; and I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, by the watercourses, and in all the inhabited parts of the land. I will feed them with good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel shall be their pasture; there they shall lie down in good grazing land, and they shall feed on rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the Lord GOD. I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with justice. -- Ezekiel 34:11-16

    Invitatory Bead:  Almighty God, whose blessed apostles Peter and Paul glorified you by their martyrdom: Grant that your Church, instructed by their teaching and example, and knit together in unity by your Spirit, may ever stand firm upon the one foundation, which is Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

    Cruciform Bead:  Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of our God.

    Week Beads:  Psalm 87
    1st:  On the holy mountain stands the city he has founded;
    2nd:  the LORD loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
    3rd:  I count Egypt and Babylon among those who know me;
    4th:  behold Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia: in Zion were they born.
    5th:  Of Zion it shall be said, "Everyone was born in her, and the Most High himself shall sustain her."
    6th:  The LORD will record as he enrolls the peoples, "These also were born there."
    7th:  The singers and the dancers will say, "All my fresh springs are in you."

    Exit Cross:   When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs." A second time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Tend my sheep." He said to him the third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep. Very truly, I tell you, when you were younger, you used to fasten your own belt and to go wherever you wished. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will fasten a belt around you and take you where you do not wish to go." (He said this to indicate the kind of death by which he would glorify God.) After this he said to him, "Follow me." -- John 21:15-19

    This Anglican Prayer Chaplet in honor of St. Paul the Apostle is made with a pewter cross with a Bible and a medal of St. Paul attached to it.  The Invitatory Bead is a pewter Episcopal Shield and Cruciform Bead is a pewter horse, symbolizing (in my mind at least) the horse the Paul was riding on the road to Damascus. The smoky gray glass week beads symbolize his blindness, as well as the passage "Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." (1 Corinthians 13:12).  The Week beads are separated by silver rounds and matching smoky gray glass rounds and seed beads.  A matching glass heart is placed between the Invitatory and Cruciform beads, symbolizing God's love for us.

    This Anglican Prayer Chaplet in honor of St. Cecilia and St. Paul, both Patron Saints of musicians was created at the request of an organist/choirmaster. She requested one chaplet honoring both Saints and made of gray or black beads in order to be unobtrusive while used at the organ.  The Invitatory bead is a pewter Episcopal Shield, which can be substitued with another symbol or bead to make the chaplet more ecumenical. The Cruciform bead is a pewter rose, honoring St. Cecelia.  The Week beads are smoke colored glass rounds, separated by silver rounds and matching small smoke colored glass rounds and seed beads.  A matching glass heart is placed between the Invitatory and Cruciform beads, symbolizing God's love for us.  A pewter harp, again symbolizing St. Cecelia, and a bible, symbolizing St, Paul, as well as a St. Paul Medal, and musical notes, symbolizing both Saints, are attached to the simple cross.
