  • Anglican Chaplet of St. Anne
(based on prayers of The Orthodox Church)

Cross:   Let us celebrate the memory of the Grandparents of Christ and fervently ask for their help, so that salvation may be assured for all those who cry out: "O God who glorified them according to your will, remain always with us!" -- Orthodox Kontakion in tone 2

Invitatory Bead:   Anne, Divinely Wise, you carried in your womb the Mother of God, the Immaculate One who gave life to Life; wherefore you now have been carried up joyfully to the inheritance of heaven, to the abode of those who rejoice in glory. O Ever-blessed One, you seek the forgiveness of sins for those who honor you with fervor. -- Orthodox Troparion in tone 4

Cruciform Bead:   Now Anna is no longer barren and nurses the All-Pure One! She rejoices and calls us to sing a hymn of praise to Christ Who gave mankind the only Ever-Virgin Mother!-- Orthodox Kontakion in tone 2

Week Beads:  Orthodox Troparion in tone 4
1st:  Today the bonds of barrenness are broken,
2nd:  God has heard the prayers of Joachim and Anna.
3rd:  He has promised them beyond all their hopes,
4th:  To bear the Maiden of God
5th:  By whom the Uncircumscribed One was born as mortal man,
6th:  Who commanded an angel to cry to Her:
7th:  Rejoice, O Full of Grace, the Lord is with You!

Exit Cross:  Receive me, good mother. Cover me with the mantle of your love. Look kindly on me. By your powerful intercession, may I obtain from God grace and mercy. Obtain for me remission for sin and release from the punishment my offenses have deserved. Pray that I may receive grace to lead a devout life on earth and that I may obtain the everlasting reward of heaven. -- Prayer to St. Anne

This stunning Prayer Chaplet, in honor of St. Anne, features an ornate Crucifix, a medal with St. Anne on one side and The Holy Family on the reverse, and a book symbolizing St. Anne's education of Mary.  The beads are a peridot opal colored glass (symbolizing hope and peace), separated by matching periodot glass and silver spacers.  A small clear glass heart (representing God's love) separates the Invitatory bead from the Cruciform Bead.
