April 12, 2000 - Setting the path to begin this year's garden. (This is the first picture taken with my new digital camer - I am trying to learn how to use it.)

So far this year I've had a profusion of beautiful daffodills in bloom.
Last of the Daffodills - April 13, 2000
These are the last of the daffodills. I took this picture on April 13, 2000....

First tulips on the season - April 13, 2000
...and these are the first tulips of the season, taken on the same day.

April 15th - Just look at all the blossoms on my pear tree! Maybe I'll get some pears before the birds do this year.

My bird feeders have been out all winter. On April 9, 2000 I set up the Hummingbird feeder, hoping to attract them again this year. I haven't seen any so far (today is April 12). An interesting website on hummingbirds is: The Hummingbird WebSite

June 22, 2000 - It's been a while since I updated this page. The birds are back in profusion. Today I saw my favorites - my Goldfinch family. They are very shy, but every once I a while I catch them at the feeders. They are so beautiful - bright yellow - like wild canaries.

This year I hope to begin attracting and raising butterflies. On April 10th, I attended a presentation by Rick Mikula, a local expert on butterflies. To see his website go to: The Butterfly WebSite
